How do I use particles??///

Oh hey, speaking of Gundam 00 and fansub bullshit!

I saw this on Ji-Hi.net. It’s from Nyoro~n’s release of Gundam 00 S2. Nyoro~n might sound familiar due to their season 1 lulz. There’s a problem with the translation from the screenshot: How the fuck does “junshinsa ga shinpuru na chikara ni” translate to “With the simple power of purity”? Maybe if the ga was a no and the ni was a de it would be translated like that, but the ga is a ga and the ni is a ni. You don’t just insert whichever particles you’d like to in-between words. Zzz.

What they did there was pretty much like writing “I will kill your. Boss and do stuff.”

And seriously, don’t drag Dark Mirage up again. Nobody liked him and they wound up kicking him out of Menclave after that, reposting it now makes you look bad too. Plus it’s karaoke for chrissakes, no one cares that much, least of all gg I would think.

  Sorry Lolfang, koda is correct here. “Junshinsa ga shinpuru(simple) na chikara ni” does not translate to “With the simple power of purity”. Also, I have to question your use of the first word, “With”. Considering how the next line is “kawaru *TOKI* sekai ni~”, we’re talking about an instance here. And off of what koda was saying, you did use the participles incorrectly. If you had wanted to say “With the simple power of purity” in Japanese, it would be “Junshinsa to iu na no shinpuru(simple) na chikara to”, or “Junshinsa to iu shinpuru(simple) na chikara to”….anyways, you see my point. There are many possible translations possible, but yours isn’t exactly correct.

    Yeah I know, It’s not like I’m defending it or anything, it’s going to be changed it was a rush job in the first place, but picking at karaoke translation of all things? That’s pretty unnecessary don’t you think? ALL of us without fail always make mistakes in the karaoke that need revision by the time the single arrives, even though mine was a pretty basic grammar slip up. Pointing out the errors the first time it’s played on a blog is pretty moot and mean-hearted, don’t you think? All 4 of the groups subbing it so far have made basic errors so far, but I don’t go running around posting all of them on the internet. It’s already been brought to my attention by other fansubbers in IRC, and changed already. However I don’t think fansubbers should blog about other’s errors, none of us here are Dark Mirage vi Brittania, none of us have JPLT 1s, we’ve all made mistakes, and pointing out others without acknowledging your own is petty don’t you think?

      I think it’s pretty petty that you’re so butthurt that you try to take everyone’s mind off of your mistakes and try to find fault in ggkthx cause you think your subs are on-par with even mencrap’s subs. Gtfo of the subbing scene, noob.

      I’m making that claim based off of a thread that was posted on /m/ last week where a 3rd party went through each group’s script for errors. Menclave had 3, gg had 4, my group also had 4, and Shinsen’s had not become available at that point. It’s a shame I didn’t save a log of it, but all errors were minor for every group, and the story was preserved in every group’s version, fansub fagottry is pretty pointless this season, so why start it?

      Except that according to you in an /m/ thread, others are here to point out your mistakes. (Which is exactly what I’m doing, and also what coj did.) Furthermore, claiming that I’m “pointing out mistakes without acknowledging your own” is stupid when I’ve yet to deny anything. And if you want to get technical, you were told long ago that gg isn’t really subbing Gundam 00 before. As I’m not a member of BSS, I wonder who the “your” is that you refer to here? I am not a friendly person and I will insult whoever I please, whether it’s my own group or you.

      As the founder of gg, you have liability when the name is attached to a release, even if you, or most of the group is largely uninvolved. If you don’t want people to associate the release with your group, it would be a good idea to ask them to drop the name from future releases. gg is very popular, and as such people associate the release moreso with your group than BSS, especially if your group comes first in the co-op name, even though the lion’s share of the staff is BSS.
      
      I myself have done co-op work, but omitted my, and my group’s name because I didn’t want people bothering me about it as the group leader. Likewise, if you want no responsibility and to write about this season from an unassociated standpoint, you should take your group’s name off it.
      
      tl;dr – As it is now, it is your release, because your group’s name is on it, that’s all there is to it.
      
      Anyway, I’m done with this. This whole topic of discussion is silly and leading nowhere. I’ll see you around.

      Nonsense, I followed the thread, and the number of discrepancies Nyoro~n had was like 8 while it was 2-3 for the other groups. Stop trying to lie your way out of this.

anyhow, for some reason, i was stupid enough to misstype the website of that group i work in, woah, i must be ubberly stupid to make such a thing D:, no wonder koda trolled me out a couple of weeks ago, i’m so stupid, to even forget my own group’s website D:
