Ami and Sumire look similar D:

This has been pissing me off since the first time I saw the opening. I thought they were the same girl ’cause of the long blue hair until I noticed Ami always has a red shadow and Sumire has a purple-blue one, which then led me to noticing that they in fact aren’t the same person. The difference is like… their eye colors (which is like one color apart ffs) and how the animator feels like drawing their bangs at the time.

    I thought EXACTLY THE SAME THING. The only difference I finally noticed was the eye colors, which are still really fucking close. Sumire is navy blue and Ami is kinda greyish blue

    Sumire’s… way more dark blueish hair-wise, and they look way less similar in the original artwork. Plus Sumire’s always level-headed and/or grumpy, while Ami’s always cheery or about to kill you.

    Ironically, I remember people talking about how they liked the anime art style better for Ami, because it made her look less like Sumire (according to them, at least).

    I believe originally Sumire was supposed to have black hair, but because JC staff sucks at ANYTHING BLACK ON PEOPLE’s HEAD (notice none of their shit have people with black hair, at least none that I remember). They must have ran out of black paint or some shit.
