Sora wo Kakeru Shoujo: Sunrise attempts meta?

So I just watched Sora Wo Kakeru Shoujo 01. 1min and 21sec in, Nonaka Ai’s robot character plugs into a car and says, “I have control.” While I’m aware that I HAVE CONTROL is not limited to lolGundam only, I still immediately got the impression that this is Sunrise attempting a meta-parody and watched the rest of the show assuming that. Trash in space, train in space, a “colony drop” being stopped, enlarged Shinkirou’s laser prism machine w/AI and complete with the correct voice actor.

…I’m not really sure what else to say besides that.

Edit: Actually, I do know what to say. I think the only reason why people will remember this episode 1 is because, “Wtf there’s a robot talking like Lelouch.” Is this the intention or not?

      actually, this is geass 3rd season

      that’s Lelouche, his dead body implanted into a robot core interface. He survived a world wide destruction as the master of a colony amongst many who fled earth…

    It has to be intentional. And probably worked in terms of making some people interested in watching (some) more of it.

    actually an emo AI with Lelouch’s voice is fun. so is nekomimi girl living on his ship. I’ll look forward to next eps :3

    P.S. that fail attempt to shoot a fleet of police cars was hilarious
