Maria+Holic Opening Karaoke

This is a frame from my opening styling for Maria+Holic. It follows my more recent trends. It’s very simple, softsubbed, no effects, no \k timing, no LAZER RAINBOW EXPLOSIONZ. At the same time, it breaks all of the basic guidelines I picked up about 3 years ago when I started making karaoke. There’s no romaji, you can’t sing along to it, the text appears in random spots so you don’t know where to logically look for the next line of lyrics, it’s scene timed instead of audio timed, the colors clash with the background at some parts and you can’t read it. This is definitely my finest work to date.

Karaoke done, time to go sleep. When I wake up I’ll bake cake for my darling~

    Whatever fits the song and animation (that’s my rule anyway).. but I’m still waiting for some leet particle (or better; flames/fire) karaoke from you koda :D

    One can always question the usefulness of karaoke in general, animated or not… I do what I want and think is good/fun at a certain point in time with the information at hand… Most of the time I’m lazy –> not \k-timed softsub kara..

    Aaanyway, koda said she would make a particle karaoke once, so I’m still eagerly waiting for that :D

    This karaoke gave me inspiration to create something even more crazy. I’ll post it here, when i’ll be done (It suprisingly requires a lot of schneizelleffort).

    This actually is the best OP I’ve watched so far. I never realized how utterly bored I was with the standard sing-a-long format. I mean, I’m not fucking 5 years old and I’m not at a karaoke bar so I’m not gonna follow along anyways. This is honestly the first OP in years I haven’t skipped past after watching the first time. Gratz!

    I haven’t decided if it’s the best or worst karaoke I’ve seen, but I think it’s the best considering it took me like 20 seconds to realize it was karaoke and not part of the raw or anything. You are officially the master of karaoke that doesn’t draw attention to itself just by existing.

    I just wanted to say that I only recently found out that this -was- karaoke, the first time I saw it, I assumed it was part of the original opening! when I actually saw it without I figured there was alternate versions or something,
