Valkyria Chronicles anime events

Didn’t see these in English anywhere. D:
Summarized from the news page.

Tokyo International Anime Fair 2009 (3/20)
There will be special stage for Valkyria at the Tokyo Int. Anime Fair 09. They plan to debut some kind of promo video, have some discussion with the staff and cast, and the girl who sings the opening, Himeka, will perform the opening live. Short 30min promo event. Expected guests are Yamamoto Yasutaka (Director), Inoue Marina (Alicia), Kuwashima Houko (Isara), Fukuyama Jun (Maximilian), and Ohara Sayaka (Selvaria).

Valkyria Chronicles Advanced Screening (3/28)
They’re going to be showing the first episode “somewhere in the 23 special districts of Tokyo”. Plans are to show the first episode, then have a discussion period w/the cast and staff after. There’ll be two sessions, max of 130 people per session. You can leave an application by 3/16, then there’ll be a random draw to see who gets to go. Expected voice actor guests are Chiba Susumu (Welkin), Inoue Marina (Alicia), Kuwashima Houko (Isara), and Ohara Sayaka (Selvaria). Expected duration is 30min seating starting at noon, 1hr of showing and discussion, then a 30min break, then start up again for the second session.

Himeka
Speaking of Himeka, the other day while talking about Valkyria in staff room, we discovered she has a blog and we found that a fan uploaded her videos from the contest she won. Not of particular interest to me but maybe to you.

  1. That fucking gayjin bitch sucks and she can’t sing. And the studio magic can’t pull a miracle either. Period.

  2. Oh god… Silly-Go-Round… oh god… kill with fire.

  3. MY EARS ARE BLEEDING

    FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK

  4. You guys need to stfu because HIMEKA’s a pretty cool person and she honestly isn’t that bad. I’ve listened to her covers for probably around two years now, and she’s gone through a lot of shit to get to where she is, and I’m pretty sure the last thing she needs is assholes thinking a few songs she sung at a competition represent her. She said herself on her blog that she didn’t like how the contest videos sounded, and I’m sure we all know that live performance recordings usually sound different from studio recordings, and even home recordings. And did you honestly think she would win if she couldn’t sing? There’s usually a reason people win those kinds of things…

    • Silly Go Round as in that chick who sang the .hack song? Well, I have nothing against her, because that song seemed to be better than the entire .hack anime series, but I think you should chill. Hate is a bad thing, but let’s think about this:

      -This is the internet
      -This site is called srsfknbiz
-This is english, HIMEKA probably can’t read this very well
-There’s probably no way this hate will somehow magically reach HIMEKA

Who cares about people’s opinions? Lol.

    • PenisEngineMechanic

yeah cause you can use electronic trickery to make a bad voice sound good in the studio. old news.

    • It’s because we are in a stage where some people still value concert/live performance/”skill” while some just say “as long as it sounds good who gives a shit”. So it hurts the artists without talent.

  5. she sings better than you WITH studio recording help, HAH!

don’t hate, i’m just pointing out the truth.

  6. Whether it sounded better live than it did on recording, it still sounded good all together… why else would she have won?
