Fansubbing sucks

Maria+Holic
- Show: ZzZzzz.
- Subbing: I hate editing Finella Engrish. I hate everything being delayed by Tokyo MX to begin with too.

TotA
- Show: ZzZzzz.
- Subbing: The encoder/capper is emo because he’s un-amused at the translator who is a fag.

Hetalia
- Show: Pasta & hamburgers. (No complaints.)
- Subbing: Getting a raw is a pain in the ass. Getting the encoder to remember to upload the h264 is another pain in the ass.

IGLOO
- Show: ZzZzzz.
- Subbing: Koki takes like 249283489 weeks to TL it.

Kara no Kyoukai
- Show: FUCK YEAH
- Subbing: FUCK YEAH

Fansubbing afk until KnK6 is released on dvd. I wouldn’t mind still doing Hetalia too. Whatever. You can fansub without liking the shows, but if you don’t like the staff either, it’s pretty pointless.

Edit: Obviously I’ll be back when there’s a Code Geass Season 3: Schneizel of the Apathy.

Edit2: Apparently the translation and encode for Maria+Holic were done at a non-retarded time this week. Obviously I need to ragequit EVERY FUCKING WEEK because this magically motivates people. Edit3: To reply to an e-mail, other members are trying to finish stuff on their own. And even then, the encoder didn’t even know what happened yet and uploaded it like normal.

Edit4: I’ve gotten e-mail and asked on /a/ about Hetalia since it was the only thing besides KnK on this list that apparently doesn’t piss me off. Sure I’ll sub Hetalia.

No, I am not on my period right now. It was last week.

There is a whisper going around that I was the only person on staff who doesn’t like Maria+Holic. In reality, it’s more like I’m a person with a blog where I bitch about things so I will inevitably bitch about Maria+Holic if I don’t like it.

Here is a list of people who don’t like Maria+Holic and are/were working on it:
- Me: “It was amusing then it got old”
- DryFire: “I don’t care about this show” + “The op is better than the whole show”
- Plorkyeran: “Most episodes have 5mins of funny”
- Fluff: “Timing Kanako is annoying”
- Eej: “Fuck episode 7″

So not counting Eej because QC is like a random roulette every week, none of the core people besides the translator like the show. :toot: Currently only Plorky Pig remains on staff.

    It does seem kind of odd to not finish when there’s only a few episodes of TotA left, but there’s no point in fansubbing when you aren’t a fan.

    And I can’t see how Maria+Holic can be ZzZzz. On top of that, NOBODY ELSE IS SUBBING THE FUCKING SHOW RIGHT NOW, NOW HOW WILL I WATCH IT?

    Regardless, I personally still have more respect for you guys than any other fansub group out there due to you guys’ sense of humor (everything is FABULOUS, etc.) Hopefully you’ll get un-burned out or whatever and we’ll see [gg] tags on TokyoTosho again sometime in the future.

      We’ll find someone more coal than them. Although being coal means the ‘awesome’ Akikan ain’t coal enough for them and now I gotta suffer through c-hiro. And I kinda prefer Yesy over StrikeS for Sora so no clue what happened to that group as well. :/
      And will A-Kraze hurry up and finish Denno Coil at some point in my lifetime. Geez.

    gg has/had my respect not for lulz, but competence. Competence as in minimal dicking around and just getting the job done, as in actually getting the job done. I cannot say I share their taste or sensibilities (Maria+Holic ZzZzz? KnK FUCK YEAH?) but at the very least I appreciate[d] their reliability.

    Anyway, much as the uncertain future of M+H subs sucks, whatever. While we’re on the topic of dropping shit, I just wanna say that dropping Nightmare of Nunally was a terrible idea. Its all-around perversion of Code Geass’ art and continuity is kinda hilarious. The current scanlations are trickling out at a rate of something like one chapter per month so it’s pretty retarded.

    Also if you feel like you’re getting kinda bored of this anime shit then might I suggest checking out Yotsuba&! (unless you have already of course. Might as well read it again tho). It’s about the retarded adventures of a cute little kid and definately won’t leave you ZzZzz.

    Thanks for providing the link to the finella engrish. I have to say though that I’ve edited college newspapers that had writing about that poor, and these were people supposedly raised speaking English natively. Clearly, since I can handle that job, I should become the editor of finella and we can all finish M+H and have closure.

    Heh, I’m just waiting for both TotA and M+H to end, as I usually finish the show if I’ve seen more than half of it. So, if it sort of bothers me to watch it, I can only imagine how painful it is to work on subbing the shows you don’t enjoy yourself anymore.
    Still, I’m glad that despite everything KnK is in good hands, and I’m looking forward to your future releases of it. It’s a pity it doesn’t look like you plan to sub any other shows in the nearest future, but it’s better to sub none rather than sub bad ones…

    Good to see that Fansub Watcher Entitlement Syndrome is still as much of a sure thing as death and taxes.

    Only things I have any interest in are Igloo and maybe KnK when I actually get some spare time, and Igloo is an OVA so I’m not sure if there’ll even be a delay with the stated timespan.

      Yup, about as sure as fansubbing groups replying the second anyone critiques or makes a remark about them “Zomg how dare you, no one is forcing us to do this” Like anyone thought they were somehow being forced to fansub.

      Oh and God forbid anyone makes a request or asks about the status of the release. How terrible that is. The group might just quit altogether.

    Not be an an asshole, really no offense, but I think as for TotA it is pretty sad as GG was ALWAYS the first group to release AT ALL and no matter how fast or how slow these releases came the other groups were slower everytime…
    Even now that GG has released no more than 22 (of 26 T-T) eps, Abyssal Chronicals hasn’t managed to get ep23 subbed…

    So it’s really a huge impact that it’s being dropped (in fact the second one since Osu! died xD)…

    I really hope you get a better staff someday and thanks a lot for all work that HAS BEEN done till now – really appreciated it!!
