The first fansub group to release a sub of Cross Game was Shiki Subs. Recently I saw a post on ADTRW about how Shiki Subs was basically copypasting the translation from the Cross Game manga scanlations done by Manga Downloads. People re-release with subs they didn’t make all of the time, but coj linked a thread on 4chan where downloaders complaining about “episode 3″ release by Shiki where the whole video was covered in an angry message about not re-uploading Shiki Subs to streaming site and places like MegaUpload.
Additionally, this guy is saying he’s a gg bro. Shit’s personal now.

Here’s some lines from Shiki’s 01 and the manga scanlations by Manga Downloads that shows how they’ve copypasted the manga translation, and why it is ironic that they’re getting uppity about their “work” being stolen. ($10 says this is all actually an elaborate troll by the ShikiKazu guy.) There are places in which the dialogue was changed from the manga or where the manga translation was wrong (I’m not sure, I don’t have the original manga) and this makes Shiki Subs’ release wrong so I can pass this off as a, “Look, I’m trying to be helpful!” type of thing. Although I’m not really capable of catching every error, so there’s possibly far more than what I put down.

pg10 – MD Scans: “Doesn’t your place sell nozzles or something?” / “Unfortunately, water spraying has not been officially classified as a sport yet…” / “And plus! What kind of treatment is this?!”
3:44 – Shiki Subs: “Doesn’t your place sell nozzles or something?” / “Sorry but spraying water has not been officially classified as a sport yet…” / “Also, what kind of treatment is this!?”
pg14 – MD Scans: “Koh! Take me to swimming school on your bike.”
4:46 – Shiki Subs: “Ko, take me to swimming school on your bike.”
pg16 – MD Scans: “Shut up! I’m just taking her to swimming school.” / “That’s perfect. When you’re done, join the team. We’re low on members.”
5:39 – Shiki Subs: “Idiot! I’m just taking her to swimming school!” / “Thats perfect When your done, join the team because we are low on members.”
Mistranslation on the 2nd line. As it is now, he’s making it sound like, “Join the team forever dude we don’t have enough people period.” In reality, he’s only saying that they’re low right now/today/etc. (Miss: 今日)
pg16-17 – MD Scans: “No way, baseball sucks…” / “The hell is this?! You were the one who said we should make a team in the first place!” / “Oh yeah, thanks for buying all the uniforms and gear.”
5:47 – Shiki Subs: “No way, baseball sucks.” / “Hey! Aren’t you the one who said we should make a team in the first place?!” / “Oh yeah. Thanks for buying all the baseball gear and uniforms.”
Mistranslation on “in the first place” on the 2nd line. He says that Kou told them to make the team in class. (Miss: クラスで)

Mistranslation on the last line in Shiki, he should’ve just copypasted the manga version again. (Miss: 終わるから)
pg21-22 – MD Scans: “Regardless of the kiss on the cheek I just received… Wakaba Tsukishima is the cutest girl in my class… No, more like, our entire grade… Naturally, this means there are lots of guys who like her.”
7:28 – Shiki Subs: “Regardless of the kiss on the cheek she just gave me.. Tsukishima Wakaba is the cutest girl in my class. No.. more like our whole grade. That means there are a lot of guys who like her.”
pg24 – MD Scans: “Hey! Hi guys. I mean, fellow teammates!” / “What is it now?” / “What I couldn’t say earlier because of the girl, is that I’ve never once forgotten about this team. As proof of that, see here! I have the uniform on at all times so I can be of help at any moment.” / “You’re just wearing it as your normal clothes.”
8:01 – Shiki Subs: “Hey fellow doors teammates” / “What is it now?” / “I’ve never once forgotten about this team. As proof of that, I have the uniform on at all times so I can be of help at any moment.” / “You’re trying to get away from trouble, aren’t you?”
Mistranslation on the first and last lines here. On the first one he’s like, “lol didn’t mean to make you guys wait hurf.” (Miss: おまたせ blah blah) On the last one, he should’ve just copypasted from it again. Nakanishi is talking about Kou’s clothes. (Miss: 普段にしてやがるな)
pg30 – MD Scans: “Continuing onward, we go to the bottom of the 5th, doors to bat.” / “Hey! Hold on a sec! You’re going too fast! First explain how it was I gave up five runs! All because of your four errors!”
8:35 – Shiki Subs: “Its now the bottom of the fifth inning and it’s the doors turn to bat, with only three innings left until the end of the game.” / “If it wasn’t for your four errors it would be a one-sided game!”
What he actually says on the 1st line: “It’s the bottom of the 5th, tied 5 to 5, and the Doors are up to bat! What a thrilling game.” …fuck 
@ putting what the JP is for this. 五回点 = 5 baseball pts. He seemingly thought that Kou says three inning in Engrish instead of thrilling? (Miss: スリリングなゲーム)
pg34 – MD Scans: “Continuing onward, we enter the last inning, bottom of the 6th, trailing the Pons 7-6.” / “Hang on! Would you mind explaining how we gave up two runs in the top of the 6th?”
9:30 – Shiki Subs: “We enter the last inning, bottom of the sixth with the Doors trailing by one, can they make a comeback and win this?!” / “Its your error in the top of the six inning which gave up two runs!”
What he actually says on the 1st line: “Bottom of the 6th, the Doors trail by one, no outs, and a chance to score with the guy on first. Can they turn this around?”
What he actually says on the 2nd line: “IF YOU HADN’T FUCKED UP SIX TIMES…”
“No outs” and “error” are both spoken in Engrish. coj found me a dictionary entry where it says [#]塁のチャンス is like saying, “We have a guy on base [whatever].”
Here’s the error mentioned in the AniDB comments where he copypasted the manga tl and it was wrong later in the episode.
pg166 – MD Scans: “Wakaba was swimming to help a 3rd grade girl who had her foot caught in a hole…”
18:35 – Shiki Subs: “Wakaba-chan was swimming to save a third grade student who had her foot trapped and was unable to move.”
What the guy is actually saying: “Wakaba-chan was swallowed by the current while trying to help a younger girl who got her legs/feet caught in a deeper area.” (わかばちゃんは 深み足を足を取られた隔世の女のこ助けようとして 流れに巻き込まれてということです。)
