    The Strangest thing is I caught no news that the second season was coming out? I also totally can’t believe you’re subbing it at all but thank you anyway because I enjoyed the first season so much. (there will probably be about a thousand groups subbing this if you drop it anyway lol)

    Well, from a quick survey of the translations, you seem to have gotten the closest to the goal so far. Still got some way to go if you want to unseat Strato, though. But no shame in losing to him, either, and don’t get me wrong, I doubt I could handle something like Haruhi myself. It’s a quite a task, isn’t it?

    You kind of flubbed Itsuki’s line about his wishes, though, which is a shame because it was pretty funny. “Even I think this is pretty petite-bourgeoisie”, maybe? Seems everyone else was way further off mark on that one, though.

    Also if you ask me, you can’t put elongated vowels in subtitles – trying to indicate pronunciation while somebody is already speaking just gets confusing.

      Mandoric actually suggested the petite-bourgeoisie line and we thought he was going to insane. GUESS WE SHOULD’VE LISTENED TO HIM derp.

      Also, I haven’t seen L-E’s, but I thought they would’ve been closer to the mark. Jaka and I figured we were in a losing battle from the start. orz

        That’s how Itsuki actually talks! Also why translating this show properly takes quite a bit of EFFORT, as it were.

        L-E seems to have totally just guessed the petite-bourgeoisie line, and they even managed to get Itsuki’s second wish wrong even though it’s written right there on the screen and it’s a dictionary expression.

        I suspect both they and Mazui are relying too much on the Baka-Tsuki translations, which are really not very good at all.

      I think some one might license it before any one can get a chance to do that. But these suntv are really… Translucent is a word that comes to mind for some reason. Maybe it’s because of all those strange out lines that showed up a lot.
